Mainly a marina, still some nice restaurants already open, a lot of building going on still - much quieter then Kappeln - Cappuccino and Salmonroll at the Hafenkante w. Harbourview was lovely !
The harbor is well protected, but has the charm of socialist uniform building. No greenery, all houses are the same...
The port fees are relatively high and this also applies to the prices of the restaurants. Speaking of gastronomy: warm, stale beer for €4.50 is not a highlight!!!
A really nice marina with a very friendly harbor master and great sanitary facilities. We can't understand some of the negative reviews. The beach is nearby, but the dog beach is a bit far away. The supermarket has normal prices, not the usual overpriced tourist prices. The pizzeria is also highly recommended. All in all TOP.
We spontaneously chose this port while passing through. Unfortunately, we didn't discover an "operator" on the way - only information from the department that there are guest berths here. The harbor master's opening times online or in harbor guides would be fine. The facility is very new. The jetty and supplies are neatly laid out, the shower and toilet are better than in many 4* hotels. Access to the garbage and sanitary facilities only via code card - anyone who comes after 7 p.m. has to wait until 8 a.m. the next morning.
This is the ugliest place I have ever seen in Germany. How can you vacation here! Really bad. And the end of the construction madness is not in sight. In contrast, the prefabricated buildings of the former GDR are idyllic.

My absolute favorite place! The newly designed harbor, Olpenitz, Kappeln, the Schlei, etc. Just a wonderful area that needs to be explored.
I think it's good that the Olpenitz harbor is being reused, but I think the whole development with holiday homes is a little too cluttered. The individual houses are close together, cozy and romantic looks different to me. The investor of course wants to see a return on his settlement, but personally I would have preferred a varied arrangement of 3 or 4 different architectural styles alternating. Therefore only 4 stars.
Edit: I have nothing against the architectural style of the houses, I would just have arranged the different styles mixed together so that it looks more varied.
